St. Jude’s Discovery Center began it’s partnership in 2011. This school partnership provides a unique opportunity to “buddy” with students in the elementary school and benefit from their wonderful facilities. One other unique aspect of this site is the partnership with Coventry Senior Living Center, through which the children have a chance to develop ongoing relationships with Senior Citizens.

Site Director Shannon Buncher earned her B.A. in Elementary Education with Preprimary emphasis from the University of MN, Morris. She taught 8 years in Kindergarten, spending 7 summers teaching preschool/toddlers at Migrant Head Start. Her knowledge of Kindergarten-readiness ensures that students are ready for the transition to Kindergarten. Shannon was also the Discovery Center Site Director at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis for three years.
