Jen Fehrmann, Site-Director / Lead Kinderstart Teacher  

email Jen Jen graduated with a BA in Elementary Education from Mayville State University and has her MN Teaching License. She joined the Discovery team in 2015 and taught as the Lead Explorer Teacher for young toddlers. Jen moved into the Site Director role in 2017. Jen loves spending time with her husband, young daughter and son. She was born on February 29th, making her a “leap year” baby!

Steve Richter, Lead Explorer Teacher

email Steve   Steve joined the Discovery Center teaching team Fall of 2017. He has his BA in Marriage and Family Psychology from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul, as well as his Masters in Theological Studies from Bethel Seminary. Steve will complete his Masters of Education degree Spring of 2020. He enjoys travelling with his wife and young son, visits to the lake and beach, reading and watching movies.

Grace Nuck, Lead Infant Teacher

Email Grace Grace graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a B.S. in Psychology and is currently working toward her M.A. in Applied Child and Adolescent Development at the University of Minnesota. She has previous experience working as a lead young toddler and infant teacher. In her free time, Grace loves going to the movies and visiting animals at the zoo.

Toni Gregg, Assistant Teacher

Toni started teaching for the Discovery Center in 2013. She has studied Child Development and is currently enrolled in the Childcare Development Associates program.  Toni enjoys hanging out with her two little girls, taking them to movies, swimming, bike rides, family nights and spending quality time with cousins and family.

Joelle Stauff, Teacher Aide

Joelle joined the Discovery Center team in 2018, working with our infant and toddler students. She enjoys relaxing, cleaning and painting.

Julia Olson, Assistant Teacher

Julia joined the LADC teaching team Fall of 2020. She graduated from the UW-Eau Claire with a degree in Health Care Administration. Julia is also a licensed nursing home administrator in WI. She enjoys reading, baking and hiking.

Shannon Goldstein, Lead Kinderstart Teacher / Director of Quality Ratings 

email Shannon Shannon earned her BAS from the University of MN-Duluth in Speech and Language Development and has her MN Teaching License. She earned her Masters and Teaching Licensure in Early Childhood from Concordia University, St. Paul. She has been teaching and directing for the Discovery Center since 2003. Shannon’s interests include running, biking, knitting, training/showing horses and being with her family. She added running marathons in recent years!

Autumn Grow, Co-Lead Kinderstart Teacher

Email Autumn Autumn is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a BA in Family Studies. She joined the Discovery Center teaching team at Community of Grace Fall of 2018.  Autumn enjoys reading, cooking, hiking and DYI projects.

Patty Dahl, Assistant Teacher

Patty joined the Redeemer Teaching Team in the Fall of 2019. She is a Certified Medical Assistant through Rasmussen College. Her hobbies are photography, walking with her dog and watching her grandchildren play hockey.

Christina Strommer, Assistant Teacher

Christine joined the Infant Room Teaching Team in the Fall of 2019. She has her B.S. degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a Concentration in Children from the University of WI, Stout. Christine enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, plays and movies, reading and staying fit through group exercise.

Kathy Schroepfer, Assistant Teacher

Kathy has been working in childcare for over twenty years, caring for children ages birth to elementary. She began teaching for the Discovery Center in 2014 and has taught at the Stillwater, Forest Lake and White Bear Lake locations. Kathy’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her family and grandson.

Hannah Olson, Assistant Teacher

Hannah graduated from UW-Stout with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She joined the Discovery Center team in 2016 as an assistant teacher in Stillwater. In her free time, Hannah likes to walk and hike and also enjoys swimming. Her hobbies are reading and playing the piano.

Marissa Prelgo, Assistant Teacher

Marissa joined the teaching team Fall of 2020. she graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Event Management and Public Relations.  Marissa loves playing and going on walks with her chihuahua puppy, as well as traveling and cooking.
